7-day refund, less the card fee. The ClaimYourCollege guide is free. This policy covers the optional paid plans: the Family Plan tiers (Family Pro and Family Household), the one-time Decision Pack, and Counselor Plan seats.
7-day refund
If a paid plan is not the right fit, email support@claimyourcollege.com within 7 days of your purchase and we will refund it, less the payment-processing fee our card processor (Stripe) charges and does not return to us (2.9% plus $0.30, for example $4.62 on a $149 plan, $8.97 on $299, $1.72 on $49, or $26.37 on an $899 counselor seat). That fee is the one amount we cannot return, because the card network keeps it whether or not you are refunded. Everything else goes straight back.
What the refund is for
The refund is here in case a paid plan turns out not to be the right fit for your family or your school. We may decline refunds we reasonably believe are fraudulent or made in bad faith.
How to request a refund
Email support@claimyourcollege.com from the address you bought with, or include the family name printed on your license (for a counselor seat, the school and counselor name). That is all we need to find the purchase. We aim to reply within two business days. The refund goes back to your original payment method through Stripe, our payment processor, and depending on your bank it can take a few days to appear.
What happens to your license key
When we issue a refund, the license key from that purchase is deactivated. It stops unlocking the paid tools the next time the app loads. This keeps things fair: you are not charged, and the key does not keep working. Everything you created stays on your device. A deactivated key only re-locks the premium tools; it never deletes your data. A counselor team purchase is one key for all its seats, so it is refunded as a whole, all seats together.
No subscription, nothing to cancel
The paid plans are a single payment. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no card kept on file, so there is nothing to cancel. A Family Plan license or counselor seat simply ends on June 30 of its school year.
Employer orders
Employer orders are different. When an employer pays for its employees' access, that purchase is invoiced and governed by the order form the employer signs, not by this 7-day refund. An employee who receives a key through an employer's access code paid nothing, so there is nothing to refund to them.
After 7 days
Because it is a one-time purchase that gives you the tools for the whole school year, we do not offer partial or prorated refunds after 7 days. If something is wrong, or a tool is not working, email us anyway. We want to make it right.
